Fall 2026 Roadmap: Ellucian released their Fall 2026 Anthology Student Roadmap on October 21, 2026. Key upcoming changes featured in the roadmap are:
- “move and lock” functionality for course categories on degree progress audits for greater control of exceptions,
- an AI transcript reader to facilitate importing transfer credit (approval remains with the system user),
- creation of course sections directly from a new “class schedule projections” screen, and
- ongoing regulatory updates, including those needed for compliance with the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).
The roadmap also provides an overview of the Ellucian Student Flex product built using the Anthology Student data model on the Ellucian Student platform which will be available beginning January 2027. In their webinar regarding the roadmap, Ellucian reiterated that they will continue to develop and support Anthology Student, stating that none of the functionality will be deprecated and current clients will not be required to transition to the new Ellucian Student Flex product.
Updated 2026 Release Calendar: In addition, Ellucian provided the latest update to their 2026 Anthology Student release calendar on October 1, 2026. The next release, 26.3.1, was loaded in our Test environment on Monday, October 26 and included a new CommonLine grade level field and SOR calculation features in compliance with OBBBA requirements. If all goes well, it will be loaded in our Production environment two weeks later.
